Oh, I love nothing more than spending an evening melting chocolate. Well actually, I love nothing more than eating the chocolate, but playing around with it while it's gooey and warm and then eating it, well that's just perfection.
And I love the unexpected bite of a little spice in my chocolate. When we were kids we would go to the Cadburys factory and learn about how the Aztecs were the first to invent drinking chocolate, mixing dark cocoa beans with chilli and spices. So when I saw Lindt Dark Chocolate with Chillies, I knew I had to have it.
I found some silicone molds in a gift shop, and well they were heart shaped. And I am a sucker for anything heart shaped so I had to have them too.
I think they make perfect husband friendly treats, Valentines is just so girly, anything you can do to encourage your other half it's not all about lovey dovery commercialism right?
Unfortunately my chocolate went out of temper while I was melting, which is why the tops look a little patchy. It doesn't affect the taste, but I am a perfectionist so I might dip them in some more melted chocolate to even it out. Or maybe some ground dried chilli. What do you think? Can you hande the heat?
Blue Skies,
Charlotte xo
